Thai eatery opens in University Park in Akron. Curries, sushi on menu.

Some restaurant news to report this week, beginning in University Park, where a Thai restaurant has opened near the University of Akron campus.

Taste of Bangkok & Sushi Bar, at 514 E. Market St., is run by the brother and sister duo of Min ''Jack'' Nyi and Lar Douangdara.

The menu includes curries, noodle dishes and hand-rolled sushi. The renovated setting is small and casual, and the restaurant offers a variety of lunch specials.

The spot opens daily at 11 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Call 330-252-2270 for takeout.
