Social and Human Capital Development

University Park is all about residents living richer lives, and we are all about helping foster opportunities for our neighbors to do just that.

The transformation of this neighborhood is a collective enterprise in which all residents have an equal stake. So we work with our community and its organizations to strengthen and build capacity through life skills, education and economic adjustment:

Social and Human Capital Development

  • Neighborhood scholarship program to attend The University of Akron
  • Summa Health System and YMCA: Community Learning Gardens
  • Educational and workforce development for students and families in Mason and Leggett Community Learning Centers
  • Capacity building programs for area community organizations
  • Competitive grants that meet the needs of our community through life skills, education and economic adjustment
