Our Plans
In collaboration with Akron Tomorrow, UPA in 2011 engaged the highly-regarded master-planning firm Ehrenkrantz, Eckstut & Kuhn Architects to develop a strategic redevelopment plan for University Park and the greater Akron central city area, and contracted with Tripp Umbach to prepare an economic impact study that captures the synergy of University Park’s anchor institutions. Tripp Umach was again engaged to determine the return on investment and economic impact of UPA's master plan. UPA also contracted with Tetra Tech in 2011 to quantify successful redevelopment in University Park. In 2010, UPA launched the Urban Innovators Speaker Series to promote the importance of placemaking.
