The Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE)
CNE has been selected to manage regular community discussions in the University Park neighborhood over a two-year period. Through town hall meetings and featured speaker presentations, CNE is supporting and collaborating with neighborhood community partners to provide a series of monthly community meetings. Each meeting is sponsored and convened by a separate community organization within University Park, and CNE will utilize current technology such as clicker technology, web simulcast and webinars to facilitate the meetings.
Watch this space and the Events Calendar for upcoming community discussions.

Akron Digital Media Center / Akronist.com
A project of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Akron Community Foundation with in-kind support from the Akron Beacon Journal/Ohio.com and The University of Akron.

In 2010, the Akron Community Foundation launched a the Akron Digital Media Center and Akronist.com, a citizen journalism training program and community media website for the Akron community. Community members receive FREE training to become citizen journalists that will create quality videos, articles and podcasts about their neighborhoods. The goal is to connect residents at the neighborhood level, while promoting digital literacy and filling a gap in local media coverage.
